We've had a super first morning back at Ambergate Primary! Our final character, Changing Cameleon, has been introduced and the children have worked in teams to produce a timeline of the different things they have learnt to do in the past. They have then thought about what they'd like to learn in the future. Changing Cameleon is about learning new skills and developing our minds.
On Monday 20th May, our Year Six children travelled by train to Matlock Education Centre to work with the community rail team making bee houses for Ambergate Train Station. They all really enjoyed the day.
It was wonderful to see so many families at our Spring Fair yesterday. It raised £630!
Thank you for all your support.
We had some egg-cellent entries for our egg decorating competition!
Thank you to the PTA for making the wonderful prize hampers.
We've had a great time celebrating Science Week!
The children have completed some fantastic experiments: floating and sinking boats, testing with the microbits, parachute testing, egg drop, coin cleaning and water filtering. They have also learnt about different scientists and shared the information with children from another class.
We have really enjoyed welcoming our families in for ‘Share a story’ during our book week. We had a great time during World Book Day with lots of super activities and have loved our extended story times in class this week.
On Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th March, our super Year 4 and 5 children completed their level 1 or level 2 Bikeability. The instructors praised how well the children listened and said their attitude was absolutely fantastic.
We’ve had a super start back with our challenge morning. Our new learning behaviour this term is Connecting Spider. This focuses on making links between prior learning and new learning, spotting clues and seeing the bigger picture. The challenge today was to make the strongest bridge. All the children were absolutely brilliant and made some amazing bridges.
We've had the pleasure of welcoming our families in our maths lessons for this term's 'Come and Join Us' sessions.
It was lovely to see everyone and be able to share our maths learning.
