Welcome

Welcome to Ambergate Primary School's website, we hope you find all of the information you are looking for and that the website will give you an insight into the life at our wonderful school.

Ambergate Primary School is a place of discovery. Our aim is for all children to achieve in all they do, believe in their talents and help create a learning community for all. We provide an excellent learning environment rooted in our core values:

Be Honest

Be Caring

Be Determined

Be Respectful

Be Humble

Be Responsible

Be Brave

We strive continually at the school to provide learning of the highest quality which is rooted in a rich curriculum, enabling pupils to experience a breadth of learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.

Ambergate Primary School enjoys the benefits of being a small village primary school, whilst being part of the Belper Cluster Collaboration. We work collaboratively with other schools in the group, sharing practice and resources, our school also prides itself on retaining its own autonomy.

Year on year the school has achieved high standards of attainment in English and maths. Children leave the school well above the national expectation for reading, writing, and maths.

We have qualified specialist teachers on site that teach high-quality PE, French, music, and cooking across the school. Our after-school activities also provide a vast range of sports experiences.

Our aim is to recognise and nurture each child's individual talents, we want pupils at Ambergate to have memorable lifelong learning experiences. Our school is a very special place, we have amazing teachers and support staff, a wonderful site, and as a result, pupils are engaged, enthusiastic and proud of their school.

Our Ethos and Values

We are committed to providing every child with full access to a broad and balanced curriculum so that each individual can achieve their potential in an atmosphere of collaboration and mutual support and respect.

This vision will be achieved at Ambergate Primary School by helping the children to:

  • Develop a positive attitude to school and learning.

  • Experience encouragement and success to enhance self-respect.

  • Develop confidence, interest, initiative and responsibility.

  • Learn to work together with adults and peers to gain the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed in a rapidly changing world.

  • Communicate effectively in a variety of forms.

  • Participate in a wide range of physical, sporting and creative activities which enrich their appreciation of life.

  • Understand and develop British values such as tolerance, respect for the views of others and an awareness of religious and moral values.

  • Acquire an environmental awareness, fostering a caring attitude to the world around them.
