World Book Day 2023

At Ambergate, we celebrated World Book Day by picking a book for each class, doing some work around that book and sharing it with the whole school at the end of the day. We enjoyed Jack and the Beanstalk, The Squirrels That Squabbled, Here We Are and The Incredible Book Eating Boy.

Our amazing new library

We wanted to show an update of our gorgeous new library. There are some finishing touches left to do but we love it!

A huge thank you to the Mitchell family. This transformation has also been made possible by donations from the Corbett family, Mr & Mrs Balls, Mr Rantzen and the Friends of Ambergate Primary School.

A huge thank you to all the families who have donated such lovely books as well.

Quality Texts

High quality texts are a key part of our curriculum. These lead our topics as well as being used as a focus for English lessons, reading lessons and class readers for story time. Here is the display in the hall that shows our ‘Reading Rivers’ over this year. Reading and listening to stories being read is so important for developing lifelong reading habits.

We follow the Monster Phonics Scheme in EYFS and KS1 and Spelling Shed for Spelling in KS2.
