We are really lucky to be starting a project working with Lise Bennett, who is a local artist. Each class will have an introductory session over the next two weeks. Yesterday Class Two began with making a breathing stick with beads, thought about the surroundings using senses creating chalk drawings on the playground and looked at Alexander Calder portraits with different emotions. It was a super afternoon and we look forward to working with Lise again very soon.
On Wednesday 12th January all the children developed their fieldwork skills in our local area. They practised lots of skills and had a great time, even though it was rather chilly!
A huge well done to Robyn, Oliver, Cami, Lily G, Fred, Mimi and Jemima for receiving the Headteacher Special Award Certificate for the term.
We had a lovely (and a bit chilly) final outdoor assembly this morning with a couple of Christmas songs. A lovely way to end the term!
One of our lovely neighbours made this tree for us.
It is amazing!
Christingle Messy Church at Ambergate Methodist Church on Saturday 4th December at 3pm.
Class 2 had an amazing time learning about life in Stone Age times at Creswell Craggs. They developed their Stone Age survival skills, investigated skeletons of Stone Age animals and explored the caves that Stone Age bones were discovered in.
Anti bullying Week 2021
The theme for this year has been One Kind Word. Everyone discussed how nice it is to have someone say something kind to us. As part of their learning, the children in each class made a Anti bullying leaflet that would be available to them if they needed it. It uses their contributions to describe what bullying is, what they can do and what the adults in school will do to help.

We've had an amazing start to the term with our History day. The costumes were fabulous!
Derby Cathedral Junior Choir
This month we are re-launching the Cathedral's Junior Choir for children aged 5 to 9. This is an opportunity to sing in the Cathedral under the direction of the Cathedral's professional music team on a weekly basis.
Today was our final assembly of the school year. We said goodbye to our super Year 6 children and they shared their favourite memories with us all.
We also said goodbye to some of our families who are moving house over the summer.
We shared some special awards to children across the classes for their efforts this year.
