The children all had a great time completing practical experiments during our Science morning!
We've had a great time celebrating Book Week! Thank you to all our families who joined our share a story time. The children had a great time dressing up yesterday and enjoying good books.
We've had a super start to the new half term with our challenge morning. We introduced our focus character 'connecting spider' which teaches the children to be detectives, finding clues, piecing information together and to make links between what has been learnt before and what they are learning now.
The task was to build a strong bridge and there were some amazing creations.
As always, our Year 6 leaders were fabulous, encouraging everyone to get involved. All the children have been super this morning. We are very proud of them all!
The Tough Rower event yesterday was absolutely fabulous. All the children were amazing and had so much fun. The teamwork and support between the children was super. We were all very proud of them.
A huge thank you to Amber Valley School Sports Partnership and to Anna and Lauren who ran the day.
It is story telling week so instead of assemblies we are having extra stories this week. The teachers swapped classes to share their favourite books.
Class 2 and Class 3 have been really lucky to take part in Flat Stan First Aid Training this afternoon. Liz, our trainer, was fantastic! We learnt lots of important things like how to put someone into the recovery position and how to call for an ambulance as well as what to do if we have a nosebleed and how to bandage. Plus so much more!

Geography Fieldwork Day
The children all had a great morning exploring the local area, trying different fieldwork techniques and answering research questions. Environmental surveys, litter picking, map work, spotting physical and human features, and sending questionnaires to local residents were just some of the techniques the children used.
A huge thank you to everyone involved!
We had a lovely time with our families at our Come and Join Us session!
We've had a super start to the term with our challenge morning. Our Year 6 leaders supported their teams to find out as much as they could about their given country before sharing it with the rest of the school. There were some really creative ways to share their ideas whilst using our focus learning behaviour character.
Lovely surprise from Ambergate Methodist Church for when the children return from their Christmas trip to the Ritz cinema.
