• Amber Valley School Sports Partnership Competitions

  Mrs R and I could not be prouder of the two teams we have taken to Belper Leisure Centre to take part in two Amber Valley School Sports Partnership competitions.
  The children all demonstrated the Ambergate core values and such great sportsmanship! A huge well done to them!

   

  A big thank you to Mrs Kennell for sourcing a set of new kit through Octopus Energy as well!

• Book Club

  We've had such a lovely book club today!
  
  Two of our super librarians wanted to host a Julia Donaldson Book Club so they visited the classes earlier this week to invite the children and ask them to bring books if they wanted to.
  
  We had lots of eager bookworms join us. It was wonderful! A big thank you to our super librarians for all their help.

  

• Art Challenge Morning

  This term we are being artists and our learning character is Creative Chimp. Our challenge morning has been launching this term's art topic. We are focusing on our use of sketchbooks as a way to explore and share our journey.

  

• End of Term Awards

  Huge congratulations to Louis McG, Laurie, Owen, Cami, Louis D, Albie P and Harry for being awarded this term's headteacher special awards.
  
  A huge well done as well to Felix, Kruz and Ethan who won the Easter reading raffle prize for reading 3 times each week since the raffle began.
  
  The next big prize draw will be at the end of the summer term. The weekly raffle draws will continue in our Thursday Special Mention Assemblies.

  The Year 2 children had fun sowing the free RHS Grow With It seeds today with Mrs Oakley this morning. They sowed cornflower, chives, cosmos and calendula seeds.
