  • Canal Planting

    We were invited by John Barker from The friends of Cromford Canal to plant some hedge whips (small hedge plants) along an adopted stretch of the canal at Lower Hartshay. The plants were donated by the Woodland Trust to provide future habitats for the local wildlife. 

    The Forest Schools group accepted the challenge to help and planted the remaining 100 plants of hawthorn, hornbeam and elder.

    We also buried a small time capsule to commemorate our efforts in sustaining this beautiful area.
